Articule updated on 28/11/21: Meghan Markle has shown she's a dab hand in the kitchen yet again having recently prepared lunch for hundreds of homeless women in California.

The Duchess of Sussex was photographed in a photo, shared on the Archewell website over Thanksgiving weekend, helping to prepare meals for 300 women at Downtown Women's Center (DWC) in Los Angeles. For the occasion the royal wore a black baseball cap, a mint green sweatshirt and a face mask while handing out slices of pumpkin pie.

Alongside the image, the Archewell website stated: 'Earlier this week, the Archewell Foundation Team helped prepare a Thanksgiving lunch for over 300 Downtown Women’s Center (DWC) residents in Los Angeles.

'DWC provides a wide array of resources to decrease barriers and end homelessness for all women including female veterans and their families, women with severe physical and mental health concerns and survivors of domestic violence.'

The DWC centre is of great importance to Markle as she visited once of their sites in Vancouver Island in 2019.

'I love to cook, we'll be home and just relax and sort of settle in,' she previously told Ellen DeGeneres on her TV show.

This year marks the fourth the Sussexes have spent Stateside to celebrate Thanksgiving, two years on after having stepped down as 'senior members' of the royal family.

The last time Markle and her husband Prince Harry were in the UK was in September, during which time they extended their stay following the Queen's passing.

It's believed the couple and their children, Archie and Lili, will likely choose to spend Christmas 2022 in the US, rather than join the royal family in Sandringham.

Article originally published on 16/07/21: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's latest charitable initiative has been towards homeless pregnant women in the city of Los Angeles.

On July 15, the charity Harvest Home - which supports pregnant women and their children by providing housing, support and supplies for women in need - shared a photograph on Instagram of towers of donated nappies to their Instagram page.

The sizeable donation, they said, came courtesy of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, their Archewell donation and nappy-producing companies Proctor and Gamble (P&G) who provided Pampers aplenty.

According to the organisation, the nappies arrived at the charity's new second home which will ensure more women are housed and supported.

'We could not be more thankful to the Archewell Foundation, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and @proctergamble and @pampersus for the incredible donation through their Million Acts of Love Campaign,' the charity wrote in the post's caption.

'Thank you helping us ensure that our mums and babies have all they need in our homes.'

Archewell partnered with P&G earlier this year in what the organisation called a 'multi-year, global partnership' with the aim to work towards their shared goals of gender equality and vaccine equity.

Since moving to Los Angeles in Spring 2020, the royal couple have taken part in community-based volunteering and charity initiatives on several occasions, like delivering food parcels.

Their other branches of Archewell, Archewell Audio and Productions have also expanded after the couple signed deals with Spotify and Netflix, respectively.

Earlier this week, Markle confirmed that she was set to executive produce her first series for the streaming platform, a feminist animated series celebrating influential women from history called Pearl.
