Margot Robbie and Mary Elizabeth Winstead have just discovered something they have in common: their go-to hangover food of choice is a Thai take-away.

'God I'm sad,' Robbie tells ELLE UK before divulging. 'I actually sometimes think ahead. If I know I'm going to have a big night out, I order Thai before I go out, I have it in the fridge so that when I get home I can have Thai.'

A level of commitment we're seriously impressed by.

ELLE UK sat down with the two actors on the heels of their latest film release, Birds Of Prey And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn. Fans of Suicide Squad will remember Robbie plays the super villain while Winstead joins the female-dominant cast as the equally terrifying/formidable Huntress.

Super hero fans will likely best know Harley Quinn as the girlfriend to ultra villain, the Joker. However, in this latest instalment we see Harley go out on her own as a single woman.

The two actors have some different but, equally important, wisdom to impart when it comes to dealing with break-ups:

'When you get drunk, give someone else your phone. Hand it off. You will make a fool of yourself,' says Robbie, affirmatively.

Winstead's 'more self-help version' of the advice is: 'Whatever comes out of it you're going to be a stronger better person.'

preview for The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are caught laughing at Brad Pitt's Meghan and Harry joke

We caught up with the actors just days before the 2020 BAFTAs, when Robbie stole the show after reading Brad Pitt's acceptance speech in his place, which compared his single status to Britain leaving the EU, and even included a Prince Harry quip in there too.

We didn't know this would happen when we spoke to Robbie, but as Pitt's acceptance speeches (for his accolades for his best supporting actor role in Once Upon A Time... In Hollywood) have dominated the awards season news, we asked his co-star what she made of them.

'They've been so funny,' a laughing Robbie responded. 'I actually couldn't believe his SAG award speech. I was quite taken aback but I was p****ng myself laughing.'

The speech in question involved Pitt joking he would update his Tinder profile with is SAG award and gave Robbie a shout out, or more specifically gave her feet - as well as a lot of his other female co-star's feet credit, referring to the internet responding to the amount of feet in Quentin Tarantino's latest film.

'He's a clever guy,' Robbie continued of Pitt. 'Also, what he said at the Golden Globes was really sweet. He has a way of delivering it with such nonchalance, like it just occurred to him in the moment, but no one else can pull off but him...

'I'm going to butcher it, but he said something like, "If you get a chance to do something nice in the world you should take it, I think the world needs it... then just walked off. I was like, "God that was good." I hope he keeps winning just because I like seeing his speeches.

Well, with the Oscars this weekend, who knows?
