Whether it's the guilt from a hurtful comment said to a loved one in the heat of the moment, the heartbreak after a break-up or the regret at turning down the opportunity to take a gap year, there are moments in life we all wish we could do differently.

'If only I'd known then, what I know now,' you tell yourself.

Well, a group of female protagonists over at Netflix are taking the opportunity to draft letters to their younger selves – and women across the world – with a little bit of wisdom and few universal truths for us all to relate to.

From Queen Elizabeth II (The Crown) to Sophia Burset (Orange is the New Black) and Jessica Jones to Chelsea Handler, these women have penned inspiring and emotional letters, as part of a Netflix marketing campaign, to encourage 'women to embrace their quirks, flaws and strength from within to become the most complete versions of themselves'.

While they might not be the Maya Angelous, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichies and Rupi Kaurs of our generation, their fictional lives, insecurities and worries have the ability to transcend reality and time, and we think their letters are much needed in a moment when women are still having to fight against misogyny and are underestimated by the (questionable) powers that be (*cough Trump*).

Let's get one thing straight – never underestimate women.
