Update, 2/2: Seeing Margot Robbie transform into Tonya Harding in costume does not nearly prepare you for watching her take on the ice. In a new video, the actress is seen showing off her skating skills, fully dressed as the former Olympian, while filming a scene from I, Tonya.

Her moves are impressive, considering we just saw her training at a rink a month ago. She works a sequined purple leotard as she does leg lifts and spins, and she even nails the skater wave once her routine is done.

Original post, 1/4: Margot Robbie has already begun training for her upcoming role as Olympic figure skater, Tonya Harding. The Australian actress was spotted practicing her ice skating skills at an ice rink in Burbank, CA, according to a new video from TMZ. Robbie is already off to an impressive start, showing off some spins and arabesques.

She was seen hitting the ice earlier this week, too.

The 26-year-old is set to star in the biopic I, Tonya, which follows the skater at the 1994 Winter Olympics, where she was found at the center of a scandal where she and her husband hired a man to break the leg of her biggest competitor, Nancy Kerrigan. The incident left Harding stripped of her title and banned from competing for life.

Craig Gillsespie (The Finest Hours, Lars and the Real Girl) is directing, and actors Sebastian Stan and Allison Janney are also reportedly linked to the project. The film, which is being produced by Robbie's company, LuckyChap Entertainment, has no release date yet.
