Katy Perry performed her latest single, "Chained to the Rhythm", at the Brit Awards last night, and turned the performance into an elaborate metaphor about the current political climate.

Perry was dressed in a crop-top pantsuit that could easily have been a nod to Hillary, but the more obvious reference was the two enormous skeleton puppets—which appeared to resemble Donald Trump and UK Prime Minister Theresa May. Though c'mon, everyone knows if Trump is a puppet it's for Putin.

Trump and May met for the first time in January, where Trump said Brexit would be a "wonderful" thing for the UK, and the two held hands while walking through the White House. The skeletons' outfits closely resembled what the two politicians wore that day. They were also surrounded by a bunch of little houses, which represent...the common people? The power of community? Something like that.

The Mirror called the performance "controversial," with Tory MP Alec Shelbrooke saying "This is yet another example of leftie luvvies not being able to accept a democratic outcome."

After November's election, Perry said she felt "sadness and despair," but said "more than ever I am MOTIVATED to fight against social injustice and to promote equality and kindness as best I know how, through my art and influence."

Anyway, later in the performance one of the houses fell down and it was hilarious.

Welcome to meme-dom, Right House.
