Finn Wolfhard has had enough of online abuse from so-called Stranger Things fans.

On Wednesday evening, the 14-year-old actor tweeted his response to "fans" harassing the cast of the show on Twitter:

"Hey everybody! I don't wanna ex-communicate anyone from this fandom, but if you are for real you will not harass my friends, or co-workers. Ya'll know who you are.

"Why I even have to tweet that, I don't know. Anyone who calls themselves a 'fan' and actively goes after someone for literally acting and doing their job is ridiculous. Think b4 ya type boiiii"

Over the weekend, a group of people attacked Wolfhard online for not posing for pictures with them. They filmed him as he arrived at his hotel, and after he ignored their request for pictures, they tweeted the video and accused him of being "heartless."

The video went viral, and when Wolfhard's co-star Shannon Purser heard about the situation, she tweeted a defense of the actor and the rest of his young co-stars:

"No actor is under any obligation to stop for anyone. Finn is an incredibly kind human. But he's human and he needs breaks too... From one big sister to the world, don't you DARE make young actors feel guilty or indebted to you because they couldn't say hi."

Another Stranger Things star, Noah Schnapp, also jumped to Wolfhard's defense, as did Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner.

Wolfhard's statement also follows a barrage of backlash to several social media users sexualizing the show's underage cast. Just in case you need a reminder: that is never okay.
