Guests at the 2018 Brit Awards this month have been asked to wear a white rose pin to show solidarity with the Time's Up movement.

The show's organisers wrote to all major record labels requesting that they wear the pin as a protest against sexual assault and harassment in the workplace, reports the BBC. The move follows in the footsteps of the Grammys last month, where stars - including Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus - wore white roses as a show of support to abuse victims. The colour white is associated with peace, as well as the suffragette movement.

The pins will be distributed to guests upon their arrival at the event.

Maggie Crowe, director of events at the Brits Trust, said that the decision to use the rose was "because of its historical importance; representing hope, peace, sympathy and resistance".

This year's ceremony, held on 21 February at London's 02 Arena, is expected to be attended by Justin Timberlake, Dua Lipa, Stormzy and Sam Smith. Dua Lipa is the most nominated artists at the 2018 awards, with five nods.
