The Golden Globes 2023 gave us a lot of the things we were hoping for. A slew of incredibly dressed celebrities from Selena Gomez through to Jenna Ortega, some fabulous red carpet beauty looks, a standing ovation from Steven Spielberg and a generous helping of everyone's favourite screen siren and comedy master... Jennifer Coolidge.
While the 61-year-old star's glittering Dolce & Gabbana column dress was as glamorous as any, and her Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Limited Series acceptance speech (for her role as Tanya in The White Lotus) was as charming and relatable as they come, it was actually a more ad hoc moment during the night which really brought happy tears to our eyes.
And that moment? Irish heartthrob Colin Farrell leaping out of his seat to offer Coolidge an arm, helping her to the Golden Globes stage to receive her award.
As The White Lotus' theme-music played over the tannoy, Farrell can be seen hopping up from his chair at a nearby table, leaning out his right arm for Coolidge to hang on to. After giving her classic pout, she looks thrilled at the gesture and with her skirt held up above her feet in one arm, and the 46-year-old Banshees of Inisherin star's hand in the other, she shuffles past the other tables to the stage.
Upon climbing the steps, she can be seen mouthing something to Farrell, which has had the internet feverishly trying to lip read. Our best guess? She's saying 'Thanks to you!' after Farrell acknowledges that he got her there without mishap?
Another moment that eagle-eyed viewers caught during the awards ceremony's airing, was a clip of Colin Farrell listening intently to Coolidge as she gave her speech, smiling coyly in admiration.
Seems like Jennifer Coolidge and Colin Farrell might be the celebrity BFF duo we didn't know we needed.
