Jennifer Coolidge has been enjoying something of a comeback recently, thanks in large part to her role as the ridiculous-but-brilliant Tanya McQuoid in seasons one and two of The White Lotus. So it's only fitting that the actor stole the show at this year's Golden Globes from the moment she stepped onto the red carpet in a glittery, sequin-covered black Dolce & Gabbana gown – and all the way through to her charming and relatable award acceptance speech.

The 61-year-old actor (rightfully) won Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Limited Series on the night, for her already-iconic portrayal of Tanya in The White Lotus. As Coolidge made her way to the Golden Globes stage, Irish heartthrob Colin Farrell leapt out of his seat to offer her an arm in what was one of the sweetest moments of the night.

But it was Coolidge's acceptance speech that was the real highlight. The actor got emotional as she thanked the people in the industry who kept her going for over 20 years with 'little jobs' – pointing out Michael Patrick King, Reese Witherspoon and the Weiss brothers in particular. Speaking about her appearances in the American Pie films, she said: 'I milked that to gold. I mean I'll still go for six or seven, whatever they want'.

Coolidge then singled out Mike White, creator of The White Lotus, in a speech that brought him to tears – and made us love her even more. 'I just want to say Mike White you gave me hope, even though this is the end because you did kill me off but it doesn't matter because you really changed my life in a million different ways — my neighbours are speaking to me, things like that — and none of those people, I was never invited to one party on my hill and now everyone's inviting me!'

Coolidge went on to say: 'If you don't know Mike White, this is something you should know: he's worried about the world, he's worried about people, he's worried about friends of his that aren't doing well... you're worried about animals. He really is one of the greatest people I've ever met, he gives me so much excitement to be, you make people want to live longer and I didn't.'

'So I just want to say Mike White *BLEEP* I love you and I just want to say this has been a fun night. Thank you. Thank you,' she concluded, receiving a standing ovation from the room of guests.

What. An. Icon.
