For the past several years, Pierre Casiraghi has landed on Town & Country's much talked-about Bachelors List, but after this weekend he will have officially lost his spot.

The younger son of Princess Caroline of Monaco and his girlfriend of six years Beatrice Borromeo (a member of the ancient aristocratic House of Borromeo, the 29-year-old Italian is the daughter of a count) are tying the knot on Saturday with a civil ceremony at Monaco's Pink Palace.

"The wedding service will be in the palace's salons, followed by a garden party – because Pierre and Beatrice want it that way," Uncle Prince Albert, 57, told People. "It's going to be a summer garden party, a finger-foods-for-lunch thing, with buffet tables and drinks. There'll be places for guests to sit, but it's going to be mostly informal."

Uncle Prince Albert (who recently marked a decade on the throne with a cocktail party for 8,000) is also personally involved with planning the couple's fancier, larger celebration that will take place a week later on Italy's Lake Maggiore. The reigning monarch of the Principality of Monaco is organising a traditional Monégasque picnic for his nephew's big day, that is said to have a guest list of 700. "We won't have submarine sandwiches or hamburgers or hot dogs," he explains to People.
