Lady Gaga is engaged to actor Taylor Kinney, after the Chicago Fire star popped the question on Valentine’s Day.
The Marry The Night hitmaker announced the happy news on her Instagram account last night with a picture of the heart-shaped engagement ring and a caption that read, ‘He gave me his heart on Valentine's Day, and I said YES!’
According to Us Weekly, after Gaga – real name Stephani Germanotta – accepted her beau’s proposal, the happy couple then celebrated at Gaga’s family's restaurant, Joanne Trattoria, on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.
The engagement for the couple - who met on the set of Gaga’s music video for You and I in 2011 and started dating a few months later - may not have come as too much of a surprise to Gaga’s fans though, after the newly-engaged twosome have spoken rather tellingly about each other over the last few months.
In a recent interview with Howard Stern, Gaga opened up about Kinney, saying: "He is the right guy… How do we know? It's this feeling...’
Meanwhile, in an interview with Us Weekly in 2014, Kinney spoke in equally gushing terms about his now-fiancée, saying: ‘You know, I love what she does and her work and music and charity. She inspires so many people including myself.’
Well this is happy news, indeed, for a Tuesday morning. Congrats, guys!
