When you're Mary-Kate Olsen and you agree to marry the half brother of the former President of France, chances are, you're going to be good for one heck of a rock.

Well, prepare to be blown away.

MK might be staying tight-lipped officially on an engagement to beau Olivier Sarkozy but there's no arguing with the gold, diamond and sapphire ring her left hand was boasting as she made her way into the at Paris Fashion Week yesterday.

Style Caster did some digging and came up with the deets: the bauble is vintage Cartier, from 1953. The central diamond is European-cut and approximately four carats, framed by 16 sapphires and 'petals' set with single-cut diamonds.

It was bought from a Tennessee jewellery collector at auction at Sotheby's for around £48,500 - though whispers that the bride-to-be chose (and paid for it) herself are unconfirmed.
