Following last week's rumoured $1 billion wedding of oil billionaire's son Said Gutseriev to 20-year-old student Khadija Uzhakhovs in Moscow - which featured performances from J Lo and Sting, no less - we thought we'd bring you a few other ridiculously expensive, undeniably beautiful weddings. Behold...

Angelababy

Don't be distracted by the sickly moniker; Angelababy means business.

She's often dubbed 'the Kim Kardashian of China', but again, don't be fooled. It's because she has a huge social media following, just like Kim, not because she owes her fame to a lack of obvious talent. As of May 2015, she had 58 million followers on China’s version of Twitter, Sina Weibo.

Anyway, back to the point, she's an actress and singer who is said to rake in about £7 million a year. We'll next see her opposite Will Smith in the sequel to 'Independence Day', due out in June.

All of this led to one of the most amazingly ridiculous weddings we have ever seen back in October 2015.

The groom was Huang Xiaoming, one of China's leading actors, and the location was the Shanghai Exhibition Centre, which was decked out with thousands of flowers to look like a fairytale castle. Of course.

Though it was said to have cost about £20 million, it's thought much of the cost was covered by various sponsorship deals with brands, which were serviced by a livestream of the event. Yep, a livestream.

The bride wore a full-skirted haute couture dress by Dior with organza sleeves and Chantilly lace bouquets that took five months to create and consisted of 115 feet of satin organza, 170 feet of tulle crafted into seven skirt layers, and a 10 foot long train.

Prior to the day, the couple posed for official wedding portraits in Paris, where the bride wore a series of Elie Saab couture gowns.

The cake was a 2.5 metre-high creation fashioned to look like a carousel.

The ring? A six-carat Chaumet diamond ring, said to be worth £1 million.

Noor Fares

Now this is quite possibly the most beautiful wedding we have EVER seen.

When jewellery designer Noor Fares married artist Alexandre Al Khawam at a ceremony in Normandy in 2015 she stepped up the wedding game, big time.

The night before the big day saw a 1001 Arabian Nights-themed party, which welcomed guests to ‘Noormandie’, an imaginary street that fused the 'characteristics of rural India and old Baghdad.'.

The next day, guests descended upon the l’Eglise Sainte Catherine in Honfleur, which was decked out with white flowers inside and out, literally dripping from every surface.

For the service Fares wore a haute couture lace gown by Giambattista Valli, before changing into an Azzedine Alaia gown speckled with delicate pearls for the party festivities. Dreamy.

Sabine G

Sabine Ghanem, founder of jewellery brand Sabine G, married Getty heir Joseph Getty in June 2015 and it was the definition of spectacular.

Ghanem wore a custom-made creation by couture house Schiaparelli, hand embroidered with thousands of gold sequins by embroidery masion Lesage to create a huge sun motif that adorned the dress, a matching cape (instead of a viel) and also her Charlotte Olympia shoes.

The ceremony took place in the Basilica of the Twelve Apostles in Rome, before guests made their way to a Magic Mirrors-themed reception.

The night before, guests enjoyed a 'Dangerous Liaisons'-themed party, to which they all wore 18th century dress.

The whole event is said to have cost Sabine's father, a Lebanese financier, in the region of £7 million. Wowzers.
