The expectation: Swanning around beautiful countryside mansions, inspecting where my dream ceremony would be held, holding back the tears while my champagne is topped up by a conscientious assistant, a team of eager planners primed and ready to make my wedding day the biggest, the best.

The reality: None of the above. This is big business people. I was nothing more than a walking pay check.

But then: We met Lisa at Wasing, a beautiful estate in Berkshire. She took us on a two hour tour of the different wedding areas (The Secret Garden, The Woodland and Wasing Park) throughout the estate, and the twenty six rooms where friends and family can stay.  It really felt like Lisa and her team cared about our big day. Every detail was considered.

The verdict: We booked the Victorian Secret Walled Garden, which is a blank canvas venue. A variety of wild flowers and rare rose bushes and a greenhouse all contained within victorian brick walls and gates. The pictures don’t do the venue justice, the location is beautiful and my inner hippy has found her spiritual home.
