Grab your Gucci loafers, Burberry plaid headbands, and white elbow-length debutant ball gloves, people, because a Gossip Girl comeback might be on the cards.

Following the news HBO now has the rights to Gossip Girl-inspired series Prep, a literary adaptation about a Midwestern girl coming of age and navigating life in a New England boarding school, Blake Lively has just divulged some key information as to a possible revival of one of our most beloved shows.

When asked in interview with Variety about a Gossip Girl revival, the mother-of-two – who is best known for playing blonde-haired amazonian goddess, Serena van der Woodsen, in the show – said: 'I don't know. Why not?'

'It sort of all depends. Would I do seven years of the show? No, because it's hard work and I've got my babies, and I don't want to be away from them that much. But I've just learned in life you never say never.

'I'm looking to do something that I haven't done yet, not something that I did. But would I do that? Who knows — if it was good, if it made sense. We had so much fun shooting and living and working in New York City,' she added.

The star, who recently revealed she's working with nonprofit organisation Child Rescue Coalition to raise awareness for their fight against child pornography, also revealed the show was originally set in Toronto, not New York City.

'Josh [Schwartz] and Stephanie [Savage] refused to do the show in Toronto. They said, 'No, New York City is the star of the show.' And so they fought for it to be made in New York. If we would have been in Toronto, I don't know if we would have made it past our first episode,' she admitted.

'We were always in the coolest new spots. It was almost like a city guide as well as a fun show to watch,' she added.

Er, yeah Blake, that's why we need a comeback.

Forget Magnolia Bakery and the New York Palace Hotel, we want to know the new hottest Manhattan joints we should be hitting up on our next visit to the Big Apple.

Blake, you have a duty to your Gossip Girl fans to return for a revival of the hit show.

It's mandatory.
