You may remember a couple of weeks ago an exciting, if not surprising, exchange came to light between the First Lady and Pamela Anderson.

Anderson Tweeted a thank you letter from Melania herself, which was in response to a faux-fur coat the actress had gifted her.

Though slightly astonishing, this newfound friendship between to apparent animal lovers was something of a closed case.

'Good for them' we thought, and we moved on.

Not everyone who read this story saw it as concluded, and some with eagle eyes noted the similarity between Melania and her husband's handwriting.

For reference, here's a close-up of the both of their signatures.

Similar, non?

Almost suspiciously so...

We're kidding, Melania won't have stolen her own husband's signature style, maybe he stole hers, who knows.

Well, Yahoo spoke to handwriting expert Sheila Kurtz, who was, quite frankly, amazed.

She has been studying Donald's handwriting for years reportedly, and this was her response to seeing Melania's own signature,

'Hers looks just like his, which is absolutely amazing.'

Amazing? To be honest we thought it might be normal for people in relationships to gain certain similarities - they have been a couple for 19 years after all (12 of them married).

Apparently not, Kurtz explained that this was probably coordinated,

'This is stylised. Maybe they brought someone in to show her how to do it or [it's] a stamp, but it is definitely stylised.'

That seems fair considering how many things she probably has to sign everyday.

Though, Kurtz still had much to say about the FLOTUS' handwriting, suggesting she is mysterious as well as intelligent.

'When someone writes, and you can't really read what they're writing, they don't want you to read them at all,' she explained.

'The first [letter], where it goes up into a point, that's pretty sharp and direct and gets right to it. The downstrokes — those two lines in her last name — those are very sharp... [Melania is] a sharp thinker, a fast thinker, and picks up information quickly.'

To be honest (minus the whole speech-stealing debacle) we have never doubted Melania is a smart cookie, the woman can speak five languages for pete's sake.
