This week, Taylor Swift is taking to the stand alongside her mother, Andrea Swift, to testify against David Mueller, the radio DJ accused of groping the 27-year-old singer at a meet-and-greet in 2013.

In her deposition last year, Swift described the incident in detail, explaining how in 2013 the Denver disc jockey allegedly reached his hand up her skirt and groped her backstage at her concert at the Pepsi Centre in Denver.

Swift informed her management team and mother of the incident, who later informed Mueller's employer, Denver station KYGO, and the DJ was subsequently fired. He is now asking for $3 million dollars in damages for his reputation and lost earnings. As a result, Swift has countersued for assault and battery.

Yesterday, the 'Shake It Off' singer's mother took to give her testimony, revealing (as reported by The Cut): 'I knew what happened, I heard it from her, I heard it from my daughter's mouth. He sexually assaulted her, right there, that guy.'

Becoming emotional as she recalled the incident when her daughter informed her of the assault, Andrea added: 'She couldn't believe that after he grabbed her, that she thanked them for being there. It was just destroying her that she said that…as a parent it made me question why I taught her to be so polite in that moment.'

She also explained that Taylor's team didn't immediately report the incident to the police for fear of having it 'define' her life and force her to 'relive this awful moment over and over again'.

'I was upset to the extent of feeling like I wanted to vomit and cry at the same time,' Andrea told the court room.

Earlier this week, Mueller told jurors his hand only touched 'what seemed to be a ribcage or ribs', according to a report by People.

He also said to his lawyer that it is a 'humiliating thing to be accused of something that despicable'.

The case continues.
