Zayn Malik released his latest music video for 'Dusk Till Dawn', only last week, in which he performed a heist alongside Girls actress Jemima Kirke.

Though, there still appears to be no news concerning his next album release. The famously tight-lipped star spoke to Fader magazine about when it might come out saying, simply, 'soon', well, thanks for that Zayn.

Since he is hell-bent on being low-key about all things musical, we were surprised to see the Bradford-born, ex-One Directioner totally spilled the beans on the recent Taylor Swift dramz.

Swift has received criticism regarding, well, pretty much everything recently.

The 27 year-old singer-songwriter really can't catch a break when it comes to her music or pretty much anything else.

Malik is obviously no stranger to criticism- moving from mainstream boyband to surly solo career did not come without it's hiccups, and his interviewer asked him about whether he related to Swift's position.

Malik replied in a very open way, explaining that, as someone also in the limelight with plenty said about him, he tries to base his opinions as much as possible on his personal interactions with other stars:

...when it comes to anything that has to do with trivia about people's personal lives or things that's going on in their careers, I don't necessarily pay too much attention. I don't pay too much attention to what people even say about me. I just tend to take it for what it is when I meet them people in real life and have a conversation with them. If they're cool with me, then I base my relationship on that.

Being uncharacteristically candid, Malik continued to detail his personal experience with Swift, having worked with her on a hit single 'I don't wanna live forever' as well as the fact that she is his girlfriend, Gigi Hadid's best mate:

In terms of relating to it, of course I relate to things being written about us all the time. But I don't listen to it. I rate her as an artist, I think she's cool, I think she's successful, and I think she deserves her success because she's worked hard. That's just how I look at it. I did a song with her, it was fun, she was professional. She gets on with my girlfriend, they're good friends. I don't have a bad word to say about her. She's cool.

Hadid is firmly one of Swift's 'squad' members, who the singer has said is the first person she would go to for advice.

Sounds like Malik is the kind of friend you need when you're on a public platform and everyone has an opinion.
