Updated 10 April 2018: Yesterday, 'no parking' signs were put up outside of the Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital in London, where the Duchess of Cambridge will give birth to her and Prince William's third child.

The signs state that parking is suspended on the road outside of the hospital wing from 9 April until 30 April, which means we now have a 20 day window to expect Kate Middleton to go into labour.

Of course, the parking suspension dates could be extended, as they did for Prince Charlotte's birth in 2015, if the baby decides to wait until May.

Crowd barriers have also been set up, where media and fans are expected to gather in the upcoming days ahead of the baby's arrival.

Updated 6 April 2018: A royal correspondent has revealed the due date for Kate Middleton and Prince William's third baby.

Journalist Emily Andrews, who is the royal correspondent on Lorraine just claimed: 'Kate is due on St George’s Day which is the 23rd of April.

Before this statement, Kensington Palace has only revealed the baby will be born in April.

However, Andrwes warned there is no guarantee the baby will actually be born on St George's Day as a result of her first two pregnancies.

'She was late with George and Charlotte but I would imagine the baby will be arriving in the last week of April,' said Emily.

Updated 29 March 2018: Kate Middleton due date could be sooner than we were originally led to believe.

Last night, royal photographer Arthur Edwards tweeted a picture outside the Lindo Wing of a sign warning passersby of ‘wet paint’ on the railings of the hospital.

He wrote alongside the image: ‘The railings outside The Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital Paddington are being painted. I suppose it’s never too early to get used to the smell of fresh paint.’

Given that Kate and William have posed outside the door to The Lindon Wing with their previous two babies, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, it’s no surprise the hospital wanted to give the place a bit of a make-over.

Updated 17 October 2017: After much speculation around the Duchess of Cambridge's due date, Kensington Palace has confirmed when the baby number three will be born.

'Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to confirm they are expecting a baby in April 2018,' a statement from the Palace read.

The announcement comes just hours after the royal household revealed that Kate will join her husband William on an overseas visit to Scandinavia early next year, when the Duchess will be well into her pregnancy.

The April due date ties in to recent predictions on when we might expect the latest addition to the Cambridge family to arrive.

20 September 2017: A day after Kate Middleton made her first public appearance in a video for mental health and three weeks after announcing she was expecting her third child, Prince William has suggested that the due date for their little one might be sooner than we expected.

On 4 September, Kensington Palace announced the news the Duchess was expecting another royal baby, leading many people to presume the royal family was waiting until the recommended three-month mark before announcing the pregnancy.

As a result, it was widely thought the baby was expected to arrive sometime in April 2018.

However during a visit with Spitalfields Crypt Trust, a charity that supports those dealing with homelessness and addiction in East London, Prince William dropped a major hint that his wife might be further on in her pregnancy than we were originally led to believe.

Congratulated for expecting his third child with Kate Middleton at the site visit, William told one midwife: 'All the best with the midwifery, I may see you sooner than you think.'

Following the meeting, the Prince received a wooden owl as a gift for his newborn—and two more for Prince George and Princess Charlotte, so they wouldn't get jealous, reports People.

'We don't want arguments,' he joked.

The father-of-two also quipped with hairstylist Taz Kabria at a men's hairdressers next door to the charity: 'I don't have much hair, I can't give you much business.'

Could baby number three be coming sooner than we thought?
