If you're already feeling overwhelmed today, you might want to look away now. This heartwarming story from a bride is certain to have you welling up.

As we all know, it's not uncommon for a bride to borrow a sentimental token from a family member or friend for her wedding day, be it a blue diamond broach, a pair of earrings from a late grandparent, or a veil from their mother's big day.

But for 23-year-old bride Jordyn Cleverly, from Boise, Idaho, her white wedding served as the perfect occasion to wear her grandmother's very own 55-year-old wedding dress.

The long-sleeved lace dress was originally worn by Cleverly's grandmother, 74-year-old Penny Jensen, when she married her childhood sweetheart in 1962.

In images captured by photographer Kortney Peterson, Penny can be seen looking at her granddaughter in her dress and breaking down in tears.

In an interview with Inside Edition, the young bride explained she kept the decision to wear her grandmother's dress as a secret until the rehearsal dinner two nights before the wedding.

'I didn't want her to see it for the first time walking down the aisle and just start sobbing and all those memories come back to her,' she said.

Disheartened with the choice of dresses on offer in bridal shops, Cleverly revealed: 'After our engagement, I tried on a couple of dresses at a local wedding dress shop and I just couldn't find anything that had the style, that antique vintage style that I was looking for.'

When she learned her grandma was intending to donate her old dress to charity, Cleverly felt inspired.

'It was actually maybe a size or two too big and so I contacted a local seamstress to see if there was anything we could do with it and she said, "Absolutely, it's in fantastic shape",' she said. '[My grandma] had zero idea; she had no idea it was even in my possession.'

Like her grandmother, Cleverly met her now husband aged just 14, and said the experience of coming out to her grandmother in her wedding dress was an 'emotional rollercoaster'.

'All I heard her saying in the back was, "Wow, wow, wow". I finally went up and hugged her and she whispered in my ear, "I married my high school sweetheart in this dress and so will you".'

Are you crying yet? Yeah, us neither…

Photographer Peterson later posted pictures from the adorable moment to the Love What Matters Facebook page and described the experience as 'a first look unlike any other I've done before'.

Too cute.
