It appears there might be trouble in paradise for The Weeknd and Selena Gomez as the 25-year-old singer's recent encounters with Justin Bieber look to be causing a rift between the pair.

Last week, the rumour mill went into overdrive as TMZ reported that exes Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez were spotted hanging out again while The Weeknd - Selena's current boyfriend - is currently on his world tour.

E! reports 'Jelena', as the former exes are known among fans, were seen enjoying breakfast together at JOi Cafe in Westlake Village, California, a suburb northwest of Los Angeles on Sunday morning.

As source told Us Weekly: 'They grabbed breakfast, blueberry smoothies with whipped cream, and were just talking—none of the staff really recognised them.

'Justin paid for both of them, they looked to be in a good mood, they just sat at a table and chatted for a while, no hand holding or anything, the conversation seemed lighthearted. They sat at a table inside where they had a little more privacy. They stayed for about 25 minutes before leaving together.'

The pair later attended church services together, at Zoe Church in Los Angeles, California.

And while The Weeknd reportedly has no problem with his girlfriend of almost a year hanging out with her ex, fans of the 'I Feel It Coming' singer have noticed the Canadian has unfollowed some of Gomez's closest friends and family, including her mother, her assistant Theresa Mingus, and her best friend/kidney transplant donor Francia Raisa.

He also unfollowed Priscilla DeLeon and Jay Cosme - parents of Selena's godson.

However, Selena and The Weeknd still follow each other.

The crooner's questionable Instagram activity seemingly seems similar to his actions when he broke up with ex-girlfriend Bella Hadid last year, unfollowing her nearest and dearest before unfollowing the model a few weeks later in March.

What's going on guys?
