Weeks after it was rumoured Beyoncé and Cardi B might be collaborating together, the Beyhive are now positive Queen B is teasing new music.

Why do they think this?

Well, last night the mother-of-three and her husband Jay-Z enjoyed a late-night dinner at Dooky Chase, a restaurant in New Orleans, with Beyoncé's sister Solange, before posing with employees of the establishment for pictures.

In the snaps, Yoncé can be seen wearing an oversized white sports top, black sunglasses and stone-washed jeans but it was her new hairstyle that got the 'Hive' talking.

According to popular fan theory, when the singer wears braids it almost definitely (maybe) means she's recording new music.

To be fair, can you blame her?

Just on a practical level, it makes sense for the 'Formation' singer to want to keep her hair out of her face and sport a low-maintenance style while she gets down to business in the music studio.

Braids are a well-known choice of hairstyle that is practical for changing climates between seasons and the perfect fuss-free do when you've got an award-winning album to write.

Queen's B's choice of protective hairstyle might also be her go-to when her A-list tresses needs a bit of chill-time, following months of sporting a bronde-hued do of late.

The New Orleans star also sported braids after she gave birth to her eldest daughter, Blue Ivy, during a time when she recorded a lot of new music and following the birth of her twins, Rumi and Sir Carter this summer.

Likewise, fellow singer Ciara showed off post baby 'faux locs' following the birth of her daughter Sienna Princess Wilson.

Ciara's tagged trichologist, Dr Kari Williams explained the singer's choice of locs, saying: 'Excited and blessed to have served @ciara by hooking her up with her post #baby Goddess locs!', as reported by Refinery29.

Of course, perhaps Beyoncé is just trialling a new hairstyle for Winter, but let's hope new music is also on the way.
