Following the huge success of Big Little Lies, Kristen Wiig is in very good company with Reese Witherspoon as the pair confirm they'll be teaming up for a new TV comedy.

The ten-part series will be adapted from Curtis Sittenfeld's upcoming short story collection You Think It, I'll Say It, which has been commissioned by Apple and will be produced by Witherspoon's production company Hello Sunshine.

Witherspoon will serve as executive producer, and because she's admitted that 'FOMO is real', she'll also be co-starring too.

Announcing the exciting news on Instagram, the actress shared a photo of Bridesmaids star and writer Wiig, along with the caption: 'Total dream come true to be working with Kristen Wiig on a comedy for @Apple.

'Based on an awesome book by#CurtisSittenfeld, written by#ColleenMcGuinness... and there might be a special guest appearance by someone you know because #FOMO is real! @HelloSunshine.'

30 Rock's Colleen McGuinness created the series and will serve as show-runner, and executive producer alongside Witherspoon. The series will mark Wiig's welcome return to TV since she left SNL in 2012.

Last year it was announced that Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston would be reuniting on TV alongside Octavia Spencer for a currently-untitled comedy series based within the cut-throat world of morning television.

House of Cards writer and political strategist Jay Carson is attached to write the script, with former HBO drama head Michael Ellenberg executive producing.

The project will be Aniston's first recurring TV role since wrapping Rachel Green in Friends back in 2004.
