As Meghan Markle is very much a woman after our own heart, having publicly referred to Donald Trump as a 'misogynist', it's highly unlikely the US president would ever receive an invite to her upcoming wedding to Prince Harry.

When Trump was asked whether he had received an invitation for their royal wedding in May, he said 'not that I know of'.

While being interviewed on ITV by presenter Piers Morgan, Trump added that Harry and Markle looked 'like a lovely couple', and wished them all the happiness as husband and wife.

'I want them to be happy, I really want them to be happy,' he answered when divisive TV host Morgan asked whether he would be attending their wedding in Windsor on 19 May.

'They look like a lovely couple,' he added.

Prince Harry and actress Markle will exchange vows at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle in front of 800 guests on 19 May.

Meanwhile, Trump also demonstrated that he has absolutely no idea what the term 'feminist' actually means, after denying that he is one, while inadvertently describing himself as one.

He told Morgan: 'No, I wouldn't say I'm a feminist. I mean, I think that would be, maybe, going too far. I'm for women, I'm for men, I'm for everyone.'

It was previously reported that Harry wouldn't be able to invite close friend former US president Barack Obama, because an invite would be a 'diplomatic timebomb' if Obama was invited and Trump wasn't.

'President Trump will not be invited because the wedding will be for friends and family only,' a source told The Daily Mail.

'It won't be a state occasion. If Mr Obama was invited, the invitation could look like a snub to Mr Trump, and His Royal Highness would not wish to cause a diplomatic row.'

Obama and Michelle congratulated the couple after their royal engagement was announced last year, tweeting: 'Michelle and I are delighted to congratulate Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on their engagement.

'We wish you a lifetime of joy and happiness together.'
