For the first time since Christmas Day, Meghan Markle joined her fiancé's family for an official royal engagement as she prepares for life inside the Royal Family come May.

Markle and Harry, along with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge - who have been nicknamed the 'fab four' by the press - attended their first annual Royal Foundation Forum in London, where they presented the work their devoted charities have been doing recently and what they hope for the future.

The four arrived on stage to applause before William delivered a speech outlining the work of the foundation.

Both Markle and the Duchess of Cambridge opted to wear blue for the occasion with the Suits actress wearing a navy Jason Wu belted satin gown (available to buy from Net-A-Porter here) and Kate wearing maternity label Seraphine, a notable favourite of the Duchess.

The Duchess of Cambridge became a patron of the foundation shortly after she married William in 2011 and Meghan will become a patron after she marries Harry in May. Currently, under the foundation, there is the mental health charity Heads Together and the Invictus Games, which aims to support injured and wounded members of the armed forces.

During the talk, Markle said she had been meeting with organisations behind the scenes and hinted that she was looking forward to working with groups which empower women and girls after the royal wedding.

Prince Harry said the couple are 'pretty tied up with planning a wedding at the moment', but following that pretty huge event, are looking forward to tackling issues close to their heart 'as a pair'.
