The Duchess of Cambridge turned 35-years-old today, and it looks as though her birthday celebrations have been a family affair so far.

The duchess and Prince William were pictured on their way to a church service with the Queen on Sunday, a day before Kate's birthday.

Kate's mother Carole Middleton, brother James and sister Pippa were also in attendance at St. Mary Magdalene church on the Sandringham estate. It's been reported that they were invited to join the royals at the Queen's Norfolk home for a family party in Kate's honour over the weekend.

While crowds gathered to catch a glimpse of the birthday girl, it's likely the biggest applause was for the Queen, who made her first public appearance in a month.

The monarch, who fell ill before Christmas, missed her regular church services over the festive period due to a heavy cold.

However, according to The Sun, Kate revealed the Queen's health has much improved. When asked by well-wishers how she was feeling, Kate said: 'Very well, thank you.'

While Prince George and Princess Charlotte were absent from the family's church visit, it's likely the duchess will be enjoying quality time with her children on Monday.

Happy birthday, Kate!'
