Bring on 2018 because Cher will be turning back time (sorry, we couldn't resist) to showcase her entire life in a musical on Broadway.

Yesterday, the 71-year-old music/fashion icon confirmed the exciting news on Twitter, revealing: 'Just got off phone w/ writer and director of musical. There will [be] performance in theatre with actors, dancers, singers!!'

'It'll [be] on Broadway 2018,' she added.

When an eager fan asked what it would be about, the star deadpanned: 'Me'.

But of course – what else?!

America director Jason Moore - who helmed Rebel Wilson's Pitch Perfect and stage musical Avenue Q - will reportedly direct the production, which will be based on the singer's life and career (via New York Post) and a book written by Jersey Boys' writer Rick Elice, with music from Cher's greatest hits.

Nipple pasties and feather headdresses are likely to be included.

It's being reported the musical will start by chronicling the singer's tough childhood in Los Angeles, during which her mother waited tables to support her family, while her truck driver father (who had a gambling addiction), was mostly absent. Cher dropped out of school at 16-years-old to pursue her musical career, and, as they say, the rest is history.

The cast for the musical is yet to be announced, although Cher did say in 2014 (NY Post): 'I could play the old Cher quite well.'

After a top secret reading of the show back in January, Cher shared her approval on Twitter, posting: 'I sobbed and laughed, and I was prepared not to like it. Audience clapped after songs, and gave it standing ovation.'

The show will be produced by Hamilton's Jeffrey Seller and Flody Suarez.

Do you believe in life after love? We certainly do.
