Kate Middleton's animated facial expressions could be one of our favourite things about Wimbledon (after strawberries and cream washed down with a bucket of prosecco).

And now the Duchess of Cambridge has been sharing her best Wimbledon moments for an upcoming BBC1 documentary to celebrate the tennis championships, Sue Barker: Our Wimbledon.

And obviously the best one is about her dad being ridiculously embarrassing.

"My father [Michael Middleton] is not going to appreciate this, but we were walking past Tim Henman and we had just seen Sampras play," Kate told sports presenter Barker. "My dad said very coolly, 'Hi Pete'.

"I was mortified!"

Kate then revealed that her mother Carole has a huge crush on Roger Federer (who doesn't?), laughing: "Roger [Federer] is my mother's heartthrob. I don't think she will mind me saying that!

"I think he probably knows that too."

The Swiss tennis champ is good friends with the Middletons, and recently attended Pippa's wedding to James Matthews.

Kate also lamented missing Andy Murray's historic Wimbledon win in 2013 because she was eight-months pregnant at the time with Prince George.

"I was very heavily pregnant with George so I wasn't able to turn up," she recalled. "I wrote to [Andy Murray] afterwards saying sorry for not being there but huge congratulations."

The Duchess is due to attend Wimbledon when it begins on Monday, the first time in her role as patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, a patronage she took over from the Queen.

"Being able to go into Wimbledon and be part of what is so amazing there, the atmosphere, is incredible, whether you're sitting on Henman Hill or are fortunate enough to be in one of the Centre Courts," Kate continued.

"Every time Wimbledon is on I am thinking, 'Yes, I could do the same' and get out the racket. Sadly, never the same results."

Someone pass the Pimms...
