Prince Harry and Meghan Markle just completed their second official engagement in London this afternoon, with royal fans and well-wishers describing the actress as 'shy' and 'overwhelmed' by all the love and support she received from the crowd.

The royal couple were visiting Reprezent radio station in south London's Brixton, to learn about their work supporting young people via mentoring schemes in radio and broadcasting.

As they arrived, fans began chanting,'I love you Meghan', with one onlooker - a jewellery designer from Brixton called Lenique Louis - telling Elle UK: 'Meghan was very graceful and humble - she was shy because she wasn't expecting people to shout her name like that.

'They didn't even shout for Harry. It was all about Meghan. She was really overwhelmed when she got out the car, and she kept touching her mouth.

'Harry touched her because she kept turning around [towards the crowd] and causing hysteria from all the people, so Harry tapped her on her shoulder to tell her to turn away from the crowd.'

On what their visit means to the Brixton community, Louis added: 'Brixton is a multicultural area and it's doing a lot of big things for young people. Hopefully people will start investing in Brixton more, because now it's been given that royal stamp of approval - this will be part of Brixton's history.'

After their tour of the radio station, the Suits star and 33-year-old royal also stopped to speak to members of the crowd, with Markle accepting flowers from one well-wisher, and shaking hands with others.

A local named Jennifer admitted she didn't know what the royal protocol was, but put her hand out and was warmly greeted by the 36-year-old actress.

'I've never met a royal before - and I had no manicure! - but Meghan took my hand anyway, and she shook my hand. Harry didn't take my hand but he locked his eyes into mine as he came near with Meghan, as if to say, 'You're going near my wife!'

'Meghan said, 'nice to meet you', I just said, 'very nice to meet you' and she held my hand.'

Discussing what it means to have a biracial woman being welcomed into the royal family, Jennifer continued: 'I think it's fantastic.

'I think the Queen has been great. Meghan's the first unmarried royal to be included in the Christmas celebrations.

'She's unified the nation. The way she's been received by the royal family - it's been lovely.

'And she stands alone. She's not a kept woman, she's not living in anyone's shadow. That's what Harry needed. Someone who can stand alone, and stand with him.'
