When it comes to wedding hair, all we want is to look effortlessly beautiful and totally showstopping without veering into dubious 90s bridesmaid territory and ending up with an entire head of corkscrew curls. So, not much...

But when you're two hours deep into Instagram trawling every #weddinghairstyle post that's ever existed ever, things can get a little dark.

Which is why we've trawled Instagram for you. Aren't we just the best?

Our game-changing wedding hair discovery? The insanely beautiful and otherworldly creations by Bumble & Bumble hair stylist Allen Thomas Wood.

Conjuring up everything from majorly nostalgic 3D sticker hair, to rainbow hair stencils, the NYC-based hair stylist is our go-to for avant garde but totally gorgeous looks.

Enter his romantically scattered pearl-adorned updo - ideal for the 'I'm really into the mermaid hype but I'm also completely effortless, understated and fashun.'

Describing the wet-look meets floating pearls hair style as a result of giving himself 'ten minutes to pin it up', Wood just threw things back to Chanel SS12 to give us the easiest ethereal wedding updo ever.

Seriously, this is a 10 minute DIY situation if ever we saw one.

The innovative hair stylist used home-made pins to create the look but commented on his post to reveal that the hair accessories are 'quite easy to make if you have access to a bead shop that sells pearls.' Huzzah!

Don't worry, we haven't forgotten the more minimalist brides out there. You can still be Chanel darling - just channel the SS13 show instead.

In place of randomly positioned dew drop style pearls, models wore a single large pearl resting gently on top of a low-slung French twist. Très chic.
