Hot Mess Hair is the style you'll want to wear this season. It's the new Sea Breezy Texture (get the May issue of ELLE to find out more) combined with a lacksey-daisy approach to the up-do. The key to getting that airy texture right is the products in your kit.
You need:
Shu Uemura Art of Hair Muroto Volume Shampoo, £23 (Look Fantastic) - start working on getting volume in your hair as you cleanse.
Bumble and Bumble Leave In Conditioner (Rinse Out) Conditioner, £20 - a little conditioner will nourish hair but not tame that movement you want to enhance.
Rough dry hair before styling using your fingers to comb through hair (if it's super tangled, use a Tangle Teezer, £10.99, to groom).
Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray, £38 (Space NK) - to give your hair dry texture (it's all in the name). We can't get enough of the stuff.
Toni & Guy Casual Sculpting Powder, £7.19 (Boots.com) - gives a lived-in texture, and a little oomph, to roots.
Leave loose or pin into a lazy bun or ponytail - experiment with different up-dos just make sure you have plenty of kirby grips to hand (those things always go walkies...) and don't be a perfectionist.
