Versace are bringing out a new men’s fragrance, called Eros, inspired, as Donatella Versace put it – ‘the Greek god of love and the son of Aphrodite’. Greek Mythology was also one of Gianni Versace the house’s founder’s key influences and the scent aims to channel ‘unbridled sexual attraction’ according to WWD.
The campaign image for the fragrance is, naturally enough, a muscle-bound bronzed Adonis, also known as male model Brian Shimansky, who was shot by Mert & Marcus under Donatella Versace’s creative direction.
Will Brian join the pantheon of the most iconic men’s fragrance campaigns though? Only time will tell. Meanwhile we need no further excuse to bring you a parade of fine-smelling chaps from throughout the ages from David Gandy to James Franco and Jude Law.
