The 25th anniversary issue of the annual Sunday Times Rich List, billed as ‘the definitive guide to wealth in Britain and Ireland’, was published yesterday, making for some eye-opening reading over Sunday brunch.

Among the oligarchs and aristocrats, there was plenty of weighty fashion fodder to digest. Arcadia owner Sir Philip Green, for example, saw his fortune grow by £580m, boosting him into 16th place – with total of £3,880m overall.

Other high-rankers on the business and retail side included Monsoon founder Peter Simon (worth £500m), Toni & Guy founder Toni Mascolo (£300m), Sir Paul and Lady Smith (£280m), and Reiss founder David Reiss – who has seen a £5m bounce in worth due, in no small part, to a certain royal endorsement, to £130m.

Here’s the Top 10 Rich List highlights, according to ELLE – how many cover stars can you spot?

No.1
Victoria & David Beckham, £200m

Up a neat £10m since last year, that work ethic Victoria was telling us all about in the March issue of ELLE has totally paid dividends.

No. 2
David Bowie, £100m

Apparently, taking over the world with a No.1 album, single and sell-out V&A exhibition really does pay off.

Britain’s answer to Beyoncé and Jay-Z in the power-couple stakes.

No. 4

No. 6

On the Spectrum of wealth, 26-year-old Florence is doing A-OK.

No. 9

It’s not about the money, Jessie J once sang. But having multi-millions in the bank is quite nice, thank you very much.

No. 10
Lily Cooper, £6m

The shrewd businesswoman formerly known as Lily Allen may have toned it down on Twitter, but her worth is still on the up.
