Hollywood actress Marion Cotillard has graduated – from being the (beautiful) face of Dior’s ‘Lady Dior’ handbag line, to being its designer.

In the latest of five short films which have been made since the actress became the brand’s face in 2008, Cotillard is seen sketching and putting into action her ideas for a personal Lady Dior design.

‘I’m torn between a rock and roll type, and something very simple,’ she says in the video. 'I love houndstooth,' she continues, which in her paralysingly glamorous French accent sounds like the most romantic statement ever.

Cue an inspirational photograph, some fabric swatches and the handbag is born; a new version of the beautiful padded box bag, which suits Cotillard’s classic French style perfectly.

‘She has been the face of the bag since 2008, the epitome of a sophisticated and vibrant woman,’ reads the video’s accompanying statement from Dior. ‘It was, of course, completely natural that Marion Cotillard would go on to design her own bag, her personal Lady Dior, as modern as it is timeless.’
