Angelina Jolie has added her voice to those of some of the most powerful people in the world to condemn terrorist group Boko Harem and its kidnap of 223 girls in Nigeria three weeks ago – and you can too.

Speaking at the press conference for her latest film Maleficent, in which she plays the evil nemesis of Sleeping Beauty, the UN special ambassador condemned the atrocity as ‘unthinkable cruelty and evil’.

Her words echo those of President Obama, who spoke of the ‘heartbreaking situation, outrageous situation’ on announcing that the US had sent a team to the country to ‘help’.

Meanwhile, celebrities including Iman, Amy Poehler, Wyclef Jean, Hillary Clinton, Justin Timberlake and Malala Yousafzai have backed the #BringBackOurGirls campaign to raise global awareness on social media.

On Monday, CNN released a video in which Boko Harem leader Abubakar Shekau admitted to the abductions – which took place at the girls’ school, at night – and said that he would sell the girls as slaves.
