The global development of continues apace as today, the label announces the appointment of its first CEO: Alexandre de Brettes.

It’s the first major hire for the brand since being acquired by luxury conglomerate Kering (then PPR) in January, and is a significant step forward the label’s transformation from British upstart to world-class business, just like and before it.

And we can trust it’s in safe hands with de Brettes, who’s been with Kering for over ten years – most recently as its director of financial communications and market intelligence.

‘We are delighted that Alexandre is joining our company,’ said Christopher and his co-founder sister Tammy in a joint statement. ‘His experience at Kering is invaluable to us and his understanding and appreciation of our creative culture was what drew us to him.

‘Alexandre’s appointment puts the running of our business in very good hands and gives us a strong ally in the building of our company. Together, we will focus on organic global growth and protecting and nurturing the creative DNA of our business.’

For his part, de Brettes says that he is ‘thrilled’ to be joining the brand, effective 1 September, adding: ‘With Christopher, Tammy and the whole team, my role will be to bolster the growth of this extraordinary fashion house around the world, protecting its creative heart and capitalising on its unique identity.’
