Beyoncé named Met Ball co-chair

Yet another impressive gig for her resumé

In yet more Beyoncé news, the tireless chanteuse has been named honorary chair of this year’s Punk-inspired Costume Institute Gala, aka the Met Ball.

Beyoncé’s name is listed alongside fashion world co-chairs including Rooney Mara and Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci on recently-issued invitations to the starry event on 6 May, WWD reports.

The question is: will she stand on the receiving line to greet guests?

This year’s event celebrates the upcoming Metropolitan Museum of Art exhibition Punk: Chaos To Couture. We’re hoping for a show of inspired wardrobe choices, in the vein of 2008’s superhero-themed soiree.

ELLE’s top label predictions? Givenchy, Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood, Versace, Christopher Kane. And oh, for Bey to sport one of Fendi’s clip-in Mohawks.
