Many months on from their headline-dominating performance of 'Shallows' at the Oscars, Lady Gaga has sought to further clarify romantic rumours about herself and co-star Bradley Cooper.
Fans will remember the rousing rendition of the Oscar-winning song from the pair's 2018 film, A Star Is Born at the 2019 ceremony.
As the couple portrayed a hopelessly-in-love couple in the film (with Gaga as Ally and Cooper as Jackson Maine), their performance at the awards was equally as sensual and passionate - leading many on social media to question if any rumours of a real-life relationship had any depth.
Covering this month's issue of ELLE US, Gaga was asked about the speculation by interviewer Oprah Winfrey.
'I mean, we made a love story,' she said. 'For me, as a performer and as an actress, of course we wanted people to believe that we were in love. And we wanted people to feel that love at the Oscars.
'We wanted it to go right through the lens of that camera and to every television that it was being watched on. And we worked hard on it, we worked for days. We mapped the whole thing out—it was orchestrated as a performance.'
Gaga clarified that when she and Cooper reflected on their performance after the show, they thought they must have done a good job for the rumour mill to churn the way it did.
During their conversation, Winfrey aded that when she met with Cooper recently he clarified that if the two had been in any kind of relationship 'he would never have been able to look you in the eye sitting at that piano'.
'Absolutely, absolutely,' Gaga responded.
Well, that's that then.
