Did you miss the Louis Vuitton spring/summer 2013 catwalk show? Never mind. The campaign images have surfaced online and are a faithful re-creation of the October presentation.
The dramatic Paris Fashion Week production conjured up by creative director Marc Jacobs and artist Daniel Buren was a technical feat and style bonanza in one, with pairs of 'twin' models descending onto the catwalk on elevators, wearing the collections Sixties-inspired yellow, black and white checkerboard designs.
The campaign is a still version of the same, with Buren back on board to turn the New York studio where it was shot into a bright backdrop against which a series of top young models, one of whom is Jacobss new muse Ruby Jean Wilson, walk in twos, with identical hair and make-up, in the bright designs.
The multiple double acts reference one of the collections main inspirations, Burens most famous work Les Deux Plateaux, a similarly geometric work of black and white columns situated in Pariss Palais Royal.
The images, which were taken by American fashion photographer Steven Miesel, will hit magazine pages in February next year.
