During a talk in New York earlier this week, Carine Roitfeld dropped news about an upcoming project that will take her from the fashion realm to the Renaissance.
Roitfeld said she would collaborate with Klaus Biesenbach, the director of MoMA PS1 and Roitfelds conversational partner for the evening, on a forthcoming exhibition of Caravaggios work.
If Caravaggio was a photographer today, I would love to work with him, Roitfeld said, reported the New York Times. I love his dark visionI have a dark vision.
Roitfeld, recently appointed global fashion director for Harpers Bazaar, said she admired the 17th century Italian painter's sense of realism. He was the first to show dead flowers in his painting.
Today there is too much retouching, and I dont like it, she added except on me.
