Chloé will mark its six decades on the scene with a Paris exhibition, revamped flagship store, capsule collection of reissued styles and a retrospective booknot to mention a party worthy of its diamond jubilee.
Fashion academic Judith Clark will curate the exhibition (shes behind the Diana Vreeland exhibition, and the ghostly coral reef at Selfridges from 2011) with designer Clare Waight Keller. Theyll install 70 designs from the archives in Pariss Palais de Tokyo in an effort the Chloé CEO Geoffroy de la Bourdonnaye promised will translate the unique spirit of the brand onto a grand scale.
You sense a different woman through the different eras, but shes always had a Chloé spirit to her, Waight Keller told WWD.
This is not an archive of ballgowns, she added. This is an archive of womens wardrobes through the eras.
The book, with text by Sarah Mower and artistic direction by Mark Ascoli, will publish in 2013.
Waight Keller, meanwhile, will show her third collection for the brand in the midst of the celebrations.
