The hour-long service featured readings from various high-profile supporters. US Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour read a moving tribute to the designer, mentioning his on/off relationship with American Vogue. Suzy Menkes, fashion and culture editor of The International Herald Tribune, spoke of having never missed a McQueen show. Close friend Annabel Nielson talked of their last Christmas together while Bjork dressed as an angel in a gold headdress with wings sang Gloomy Sunday based on a Billy Holiday tune. Michael Nyman played piano and a gospel choir sang twice.
