Galliano, who has called Paris his home since 1998, was appointed a Chevalier of the Legion of Honour by the French president, who apparently teased the designer about his enfant terrible reputation before pinning the medal to his jacket.
According to WWD, Galliano had quite the stylish entourage with him to watch the presentaion. Kate Moss came to support her friend dressed in a Dior dress, Stephen Jones and Manolo Blahnik were on hand and Bernard Arnault, head of LVMH, also watched on.
Galliano, with his hair braided into right-on-trend feathered plaits and sporting a cropped tail coat, jodphur-style trousers and a bowler hat, told the guests, 'I am honored and humbled to receive this award that I share with you all.'
We'll be keeping our eyes peeled tomorrow when he takes a bow at the end of his menswear show in Paris to see if he's sporting his brand new accessory.More
