RCA graduates impress with 2012 show
Graduate fashion season continued today at the Royal College of Art fashion show, where this years MA degree graduates proved that Central Saint Martins isnt the only hunting ground for ambitious new talent.
The catwalk show displayed the skills of 28 students specialising in menswear, womenswear and knitwear, along with a presentation by six footwear and accessory design students.
Renowned alumni including Burberry's Christopher Bailey, Ossie Clark, Erdem and milliner Philip Treacyamongst many othershave carved the colleges reputation for producing world-class designers.
All the collections impressed, but two stood out: Peiran Gong, whose cornflower-blue and lemon-yellow digital prints felt futuristic but wearable, plus Lucy Hammond, whose sparkling knitwear evoked 1920s glamour sure to chime with the Great Gatsby fan crowd.
Were looking forward to seeing what Graduate Fashion Week, beginning on June 10th, will offer as competition to these bright young things.
