These will be reassuring words for Alexander Wang, who has wasted no time in getting to grips with his new role. Though today is only his third on the job, Wang has reportedly already spent considerable time in the fashion house’s archives.
‘He said, "Immediately I want to see the archives. I want to understand the culture behind the brand,"’ said, Balenciaga’s CEO, Isabelle Guichot, of the designer's eagerness. ‘He could have slept there almost.’
With his first collection for the brand – autumn/winter 2013 – set to hit catwalks in March, this speed and eagerness is exactly what the designer will need, especially with his own collections to think about as well. Sleeping in the archives might not be such a bad idea...
