While the majority of the planet uses WhatsApp to exchange jokes in group chats and catch up with BFFs, MIA and Zayn Malik write songs.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the rapper revealed that the Pillowtalk singer will appear on her track Freedum. 'We just basically did it while I was here, because I've been here [in India] for a week-and-half. We've just been going back and forth on, you know, WhatsApp.'

She also shared that while this may be glorious news to us, the relationship between the pair goes back to when she wanted to write songs for Zayn's debut album Mind of Mine.

'We have the same publishers and they wanted me to demo some songs for Zayn… I really wanted to write a song for Zayn…. We had a couple people in common. And that's how it came about. I didn't really approach him for my own record until later on. First, I thought I wanted to try writing a song for him.'

Well, whatever the details are, we're sure hoping a super cool music video follows. If it's anything to Zayn's taste, it will probably involve plenty of trippy effects and neon lights.
