Ever since we heard the rumors about Drake and Jennifer Lopez being an item, we had a feeling the whole thing was A-grade baloney, what with the cryptic Instagram posts, clips of the pair cosying up during filming for their rumored new music video and the fact we all know Drake will forever be pining for Rihanna, no matter how much she ignores him at children's birthday parties.

However, it appears the Canadian-born singer is keen to keep the rumour mill working overtime with regards to his faux romance with J.Lo, as he's just posted a shirtless picture of himself to Instagram while on holiday in the Dominican Republic.

'Jeez, just because Champagne Papi is posting vain pictures of his hot body on social media, doesn't mean it's to make J.Lo jealous,' I hear you cry.

Well, don't you think it's a bit odd the 'Fake Love' (oh, the irony) singer posted the picture from the Casa de Campo resort in the Dominican Republic, which just so happens to be the same hotel 'Jenny From The Block' stayed at with her new boyfriend Alex Rodriguez last week, according to Life And Style magazine?

Coincidence? We think not.

Dressed in red swim trunks, the 'Hotline Bling' showed off his rippling abs on social media, with the caption: 'Peace Seeking'.

Hours before, the singer also appeared to throw shade at Lopez with a picture of Golden State Warriors player, Draymond Green, along with the caption, 'When she asks how much fun you're having without her…'

Okay, so we don't really know what Drake is trying to say with this picture (maybe he's realised he is, in fact, gay) but we have a feeling it's an attempt to diss Jennifer.

All in jest, we're sure.

However, when you think about it, this isn't the first time the former backing singer for Nelly Furtado has refered to his 'failed romance' (*cough* fake romance) with the 40-year-old, having rapped in his song 'Free Smoke': 'I drunk text J. Lo / Old numbers so I bounce back / Boy Wonder gotta bounce back.'

Is Drake trolling J.Lo for publicity to raise the hype ahead of their rumored new single, playing a joke on us for questioning their friendship or is he actually hating on the 'Love Don't Cost A Thing' singer?

Who knows?

But, one thing we do know is that Lopez' romance with former Yankees star Rodriguez sounds to be just fine and dandy, if his most recent comments about the star are anything to go by.

In an appearance on The View, the former athlete said: 'It's obvious — we've been having a great time.

'She's a New Yorker, she's from the Bronx — and a big Yankee fan. But we're having a great time, she's an amazing, amazing girl — one of the smartest human beings I've ever met, and also an incredible mother.

'She just likes simple things, she's a very, very simple person — loves family, is a great sister, is a great daughter,' he added.

While we're not quite sure we'd fancy our boyfriends describing us as 'simple', it does sound like Alex is completely smitten with his new love.

All that remains is figuring out what the hell Drake is up to.
