Earlier this year, ELLE spoke to Jorge Camara, a previous Chairman of the Board of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, who helped organise the Golden Globes.

One of the things Camara was quizzed about was how it was decided who sat next to who on the big evening.

He said, 'Remember, this is also a television show! We base a lot of who is seated where on camera range…Usually what we try to do is to have at least four or five big stars at each table.'

Though requests can be put in, they aren't always accommodated meaning the production company has to walk around ensuring everyone is in their particular place.

'It's so important when they have particular people on camera.'

On Sunday night there was one particular seating arrangement that had fans talking - Angelina Jolie and Chris Hemsworth side-by-side on table 8.

Though they shared a table with other stars, such as Timothée Chalet and Dakota Johnson, it was their particular pairing that had chins wagging.

Mainly, people were just amazed two such beautiful people could even be that close to each other..

Though some people noted that the middle Hemsworth has a passing resemblance to Jolie's second husband, Brad Pitt.

Some of the more mean-spirited users of social media even went as far as to suggest Jolie was going to 'steal' him (since her last two husband were previously with actresses Laura Dern and Jennifer Aniston).

Though most people just were super curious about what the Ozzie and American would talk about.

Chris Hemsworth has been married to Spanish actress Elsa Pataky since 2010 and they have three children together. The actor has been vocal about the couple's difficulties, particularly in reference to how much he has to work, though says after struggles they have fallen back in love.

When Taika Waititi (the director of the Hemsworth-led film Thor: Ragnarok, Moana and more) posted a snap of himself, Hemsworth and Jolie, Pataky took to the comments section to poke fun at the situation.

The 41 year-old wrote, 'What a great couple' before adding, 'I mean you boys!'

Unfortunately some people couldn't take a joke, and warned Pataky: '...be careful. Angelina is a known home wrecker and has form for stealing other woman's husband. Ask Jennifer Aniston and Laura Dern.'
