Despite countless visits to church, ice hockey matches, trips to Laguna Beach, Mexico, and Jamaica in recent months, Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber have finally called time on their on/off relationship.
And we for one couldn't be more devastated.
E! news is reporting that the 24-year-old Canadian and 'Wolves' singer have decided to take some time apart, but are continuing to keep in contact.
'They were having a lot of little disagreements recently and one fight in particular blew up and caused them to decide to "break up", however, they've been in contact the entire time and their feelings for each other have not changed,' a source explained to the news outlet.
'They will absolutely get back together and they are not over, but they both need some time away from each other.'
It appears constant paparazzi hounding and gossip about the pair's relationship has weighed heavy on the couple.
A sources added: 'They both have expressed that they have been feeling overwhelmed with a lot of pressure that has come with their public relationship, and haven't been seeing eye to eye on things.'
E! reports the 25-year-old singer-turned actress is now focussing on fixing her relationship with her mother Mandy Teefey, after a tumultuous couple of months for the pair which saw them unfollow each other on social media and Teefey publicly criticise her daughter's decision to work with director Woody Allen.
Of course, it doesn't help that Teefey isn't Bieber's biggest fan.
'Things are not amazing between them,' another source continued.
Gomez and Bieber were last spotted together on 28 February during a church visit together.
However, she was noticeably absent from his go-karting birthday part on 1 March. Instead, she decided to do one better and go Instagram 'official' with the 'Sorry' singer by posting a picture of herself with a Polaroid of the crooner on her forehead.
She captioned the snap: 'March 1, 1994 someone I know that happens to be super cool was born. Boom.'
Since his 24th birthday, Bieber has been photographed out and about in Los Angeles while Gomez is reportedly in New York.
News of Jelena's split comes a day after Bieber 'liked' a week-old picture of YouTuber Inanna Sarkis, prompting speculation of a break-up among fans.
We hope to see Justin and Selena united again soon.
