When Hannahs ebook editor David (who crashed her birthday in episode 3) is found facedown in the Hudson River, the entire cast are forced to grapple with bereavement.
Unsurprisingly, the girls are seemingly void of deep emotions, while the men on the show emerge deeply disturbed.
Hannahs main concern is the fate of her eBook, much to Adams dismay (Why aren't you mourning quietly?!).
Jessas favourite friend Season overdosed, but as it later transpires, actually faked her own death to sever their troubled friendship.
Shosh admits that she came to terms with her friend Katie dying in a car wreck in high school because her friendship group was meant to be a fivesome, not a sixsome anyway.
Shosh can further console herself with her burgeoning collection of bandanas (I feel like my bandana collection is my most developed collection. I mean my array of bandanas is insane.)
Marnie meanwhile is attempting to start afresh with a news exercise regime, a thirst for coconut water and by finally (though not very decorously) quitting her job at Rays Cafe (Fancy people want to work with me. So I'm gonna give them that pleasure and I'm gonna go work with them! So f**k you both, have a nice day.).
What does all this spell for next weeks episode?
Well, with Adam becoming increasingly perturbed by Hannahs insensitivity, and with his volatile sister Caroline still hanging around, could more trouble be on the horizon for the curious couple?
